Profile
INTRODUCTION
V.V. Aldaba Engineering is an Engineering and Construction Firm that was organized as a sole proprietorship in May 1966 to undertake contractual services. It is presently duly accredited by the Philippine Contractor's Licensing Board with License No. 798 as a General Engineering/General Building Contractor (Category A) with specialties in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Instrumentation and Controls, and Steel Fabrication/Erection. Incorporated in 1996, VVAE continues to serve.
Through competence, resourcefulness, reliability and our steadfast integrity, we have consistently demonstrated full capability to meet all the requirements for the satisfactory servicing of the needs of our clients and unfailing compliance with our contractual commitments. As such, although our organization started with very minimal resources, it has steadily progressed to the point where we have undertaken and completed various types of projects with an overall contract value of more than PHP 100,000,000.00 and significant support has been extended to us by clients, creditors, suppliers, and guarantors. We could easily have the organizational capacity to undertake many times this volume were it not for limitations of our financial resources; however, since our viability, integrity, and reliability are major factors considered by our clients, creditors, and guarantors, in many cases this has not been insurmountable.
An example attesting to the recognition of our professional ability and integrity is the case where Ralph M. Parsons Corp. (Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.), in 1969, called on us, negotiated, and awarded to us the contract to furnish the required manpower under our superintendece for the installation of all the mechanical/metal works, together with portion of civil works, of the first Grassroots Petroleum Refinery located at Guam, Marianas Islands. After a full consideration of the various factors and problems involved in this quite unusual (i.e., at that time) undertaking by us, a Philippine-based firm, it was agreed to have the contract on a cost-plus basis. While the allocated expenditure for our portion of the job was US$900,000.00, we actually did it at a cost of US$714,178.00 and completed our job on schedule inspite of delayed materials delivery by the owner due to a prolonged longshoremen's "strike" in the U.S.A.
Even after the completion of our construction contract, we were commissioned by the owner, Guam Oil and Refining Co., to maintain required back-up personnel at their plant for another 6 months to assist in the Plant start-up/Initial Operation and help train local personnel.
Another salient undertaking of ours, which originally was an unfathomed challenge to us, since it was then another one of our big "firsts", was our contract to fully renovate the Cold Storage Warehouse - Bldg. 1012 (called the "Icebox" of the U.S. Seventh Fleet) located at the U.S. Naval Depot, Subic Bay, Philippines. This roughly US$1,700,000.00 project involved the complete replacement of the refrigeration system with a very modern, 177 ton capacity, highly automatic one and the almost complete renovation of the whole building which covers about 3,000 square meters floor area. Inspite of the multi-farious problems beyond our control which we experienced due to design deficiencies, misdeliveries and defects of several imported or Owner-furnished material and equipment and time pressure due to the critical need for this facility, we completed the project in an exemplary and satisfactory manner. Our work involved the installation/construction, testing, commissioning of the facility (i.e. refrigeration, electrical, instrumentation/controls, and civil works), and training of the U.S. Government take-over personnel, at a contract price of US$1,212,558.00.
While we qualifiedly engaged in work as a General Construction Contractor, we more particularly specialize in the following types of Engineering/Construction works by virtue of the qualifications, experience of our key personnel and orientation of our organization:
- Electrical (all types)
- Mechanical/Metal Trades
- Process Plant Engineering, Construction & Maintenance
- Building Trades
- Instrumentation & Automatic Controls
- Air-conditioning & Refrigeration
- Construction Management/Superintendence
- Civil Works
Furthermore, as shall be noted from our track record of completed projects, we are especially well-oriented organizationally and technically on Process and Industrial Plant projects.
Professional Integrity, reliability, and client satisfaction have always been our standard guide in all our undertakings and reputation we have built-up has brought us a proud record of "always being asked back", oftentimes, for greater, more dynamic challenges. In this respect, we would always be glad to have you refer to any of our clients.
We hope this company profile gives you an insight to our capabilities and helps bring us that fine opportunity to service your needs.
May we assure your goodselves that, as in all challenges posed by previous undertakings, we are always prepared to meet and, with God's blessings, prove ourselves at least to be equal to the challenge of any further bigger and more demanding committments.
We appreciate the consideration you have devoted to our firm in connection with your requirements.
